THE DURBAN INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE (Durban ICC) is proud to announce that it has once again received a clean, unqualified audit opinion from the Auditor General of South Africa. This marks the ninth year that the Durban ICC has achieved this remarkable feat, underscoring its commitment to excellence in financial management and accountability.
Receiving a clean audit opinion is a significant achievement for any organisation, but for a municipal entity like Durban ICC, it is particularly noteworthy. This achievement not only demonstrates the Centre’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of governance and transparency but also sets a benchmark for other state-owned entities to emulate.
In addition to the clean audit opinion, the Durban ICC is pleased to report that it incurred zero irregular, fruitless, or wasteful expenditure during the past financial year. This underscores the Centre’s prudent financial management practices and its commitment to responsible stewardship of public funds.
Commenting on this achievement, Lindiwe Rakharebe, Chief Executive Officer of the Durban ICC, remarked, “We are incredibly proud to have received our ninth clean audit from the Auditor General. This accomplishment is a testament to our entire team’s hard work and dedication and demonstrates our commitment to operating with integrity and transparency. It reflects our continuous efforts to adhere to sound financial practices as we strive for excellence in all aspects of our business.”
Durban ICC Chief Financial Officer, Melanie Rambally, added, “Achieving this clean audit is a testament to our steadfast commitment to sound financial management and good governance. It reflects our dedication to ensuring that every rand is utilised responsibly and in the best interest of our stakeholders. This achievement reaffirms our position as a trusted custodian of public funds and underscores our commitment to transparency and accountability in all our financial endeavours.”
The Durban ICC management team extends its appreciation to the Auditor General for their thorough examination and validation of the Centre’s financial records. The entity remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability in its operations.
