The purple shall govern with Flames’ Jacaranda menu.
PLANT-BASED; LIGHT, COOL AND SIMPLE; and livened up with proprietary cocktails! That’s the short and sweet summary of the new summer Jacaranda menu at Flames restaurant at the Westcliff Hotel.
Plant-based dishes are the heroes of the Jacaranda menu, in recognition of the hottest food trend this summer – the move towards eating plants, whether as a vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian or veggie-loving carnivore.
The menu is also lighter and cooler, featuring pops of flavour like pomegranate seeds, and lighter “meaty” ingredients such as Ahi tuna crudo.
Vegan dishes include a plant-based Vegan Bowl with avocado, pomegranate and pumpkin seeds; and Artichoke Antipasti with beetroot hummus and Kalamata olives.
The Jacaranda menu, paying tribute to the magnificent display of jacarandas overlooking the restaurant terrace, also features several bespoke cocktails.
Designed to cater for year-end parties, the Friday Jacaranda Lunch is R595 per person and includes a buffet of seasonal cold appetisers followed by an a-la-carte main course and a selection of desserts, with drinks packages for large groups.
Flames is also offering a custom-distilled, limited edition 4-All-Seasons spring gin, distilled for the Four Seasons Westcliff hotel by Ol’ Jimmy’s Microbrewery and Nano-distillery. As tonic is added the vivid blue disperses into jacaranda violet, with botanical infusions of butterfly blue pea flower, lime blossom and jasmine.
Jacaranda Aperitivo Afternoons at R275 per person, include the signature G&T or one of four bespoke cocktails crafted by local mixologists, Molecular Bars, with a choice of two canapes or sharing plates. Devised by Chef Keith Frisley, these include Baked Purple Figs with Brie and Hazel Nuts; and Salmon Tataki, Avocado and Coriander Pesto with Crudités.
But that’s not all: Chef Daniel Payne has prepared a tempting array of dishes and cocktails to complement the season at the Pre-View bar or Après Spa.
