KOBUS WIESE HAS HANDED over a cheque for R1 097 556 to the Wilderness Foundation Africa (WFA), representing donations made from the Wiesenhof and Dulce franchises over the last 18 months.

The Wiesenhof Coffee Holdings (WCH) group donates 60c for every cappuccino sold in their Wiesenhof and Dulce franchises throughout South Africa to the Foundation, through the Coffee for a Cause initiative started in 2017.

“My wife and business partner, Belinda and I started this business because of our passion for coffee, and we are excited to be able to support conservation issues – our other passion – through this.

“Through the Coffee for a Cause initiative we also hope to create awareness among our customers of conservation and environmental issues, and to encourage them by example to take action to support the environment, and to support causes such as this, so that future generations can enjoy nature as we have been able to,” says Wiese.

The funds raised have supported various conservation activities in South Africa, including rhino protection through the Forever Wild Rhino Protection Initiative, as well as training of vulnerable youth through the Youth Development Programme of WFA.

“We are incredibly grateful to Kobus, his team and all the franchises who have supported this campaign. Raising funds in this economic climate is challenging and we need to find innovative ways to support our conservation efforts,” says Dr Andrew Muir, CEO of Wilderness Foundation Africa.
