Eastern Cape’s first Burger King opens in PE

Burger King SA has expanded its footprint to the Eastern Cape, with the first Burger King store now officially open for business in Port Elizabeth.

The restaurant is located at the Sasol service station on 92 Pickering Street, Port Elizabeth and is a joint initiative with Sasol franchisee, Joe Thompson. It has drive-thru and eat-in facilities, and will operate Sunday to Thursday from 9am to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 9am to 11pm.

Thompson, along with Burger King SA operations representative, Anthony Brown, and Grand Foods Development Director, Belinda Petersen, were on hand to welcome the PE crowd.  Scores of locals, including pupils from the Cotswold Primary School, sunk their teeth into some of the first Whoppers in the province.

The burger giant now has restaurants in six provinces, including Western Cape, Gauteng, Durban, North West, Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape.
