IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART that we heard of the passing of City Lodge Hotel Group’s founder and past chairperson Hans Enderle. Mr Enderle passed away on the November 9 2019 at the age of 77.
The statement from City Lodge says, “We will forever be grateful for the significant contribution he made not only to CLHG, but to the hospitality industry as a whole. We have lost a founder, leader, mentor and friend – our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.”
I had the privilege of interviewing Mr Enderle and then-MD Clifford Ross many years ago for an article about City Lodge. Hans Enderle was genuinely interested in creating value for the customer, and built a unique offering for domestic and international travellers, that has become a household name in South Africa.
We offer our heartfelt condolences on the passing of a great man who make an enormous contribution to South Africa’s hospitality landscape.
